About Kid Laboratories

Elena Czarnowski

Dedicated. Dynamic. Visionary. Elena's journey is nothing short of inspiring. Armed with a degree in Economics from UCSB, Elena ventured into the realm of technology, leaving an indelible mark at IBM & AMD as a distinguished Business Development executive for over 15 years. But her thirst for knowledge didn't stop there. She pursued her passion for education, earning a Masters in Mathematics Education from WGU alongside a California Teaching Credential in Mathematics.

Fueled by a desire to ignite young minds, Elena transitioned into teaching, finding her true calling. She's a trailblazer, pioneering the first Intro to Engineering Elective at Grace Christian School and crafting the entire STEM curriculum for students K-8 at St. Peter's Catholic School. Her impact knows no bounds, extending even to online platforms where she's touched the lives of students worldwide.

Recognizing the importance of combatting summer learning loss, Elena founded Kid Laboratories in 2023, a beacon of educational innovation. Through Kid Laboratories, she shares her boundless love for math and science, empowering students to excel year-round. But she didn't stop there. Identifying a gap in educational offerings for tweens, Elena created Kid Labs Digital, revolutionizing learning for students aged 11-14. From financial literacy to character development, these advanced courses are shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

When she's not shaping the future of education, Elena finds solace in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it's delving into a good book, honing her skills on the tennis court, cherishing moments with her family, or embracing the serenity of nature through skiing and sailing, Elena embodies the essence of a life well-lived.

Jim Czarnowski

With over 25 years of unparalleled expertise in the outdoor industry, Jim Czarnowski is a true luminary. As the VP of Engineering at Hobie Cat, he's been at the forefront of innovation, shaping the very fabric of outdoor experiences.

Armed with a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from CU Boulder and dual Masters in Ocean Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from MIT, Jim's intellect knows no bounds. His passion for all things mechanical is infectious, and he's dedicated to sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with budding minds.

When he's not pushing the boundaries of engineering, Jim takes to the skies as a seasoned pilot, embraces the thrill of paragliding, conquers slopes as an avid skier, and rides the waves as a passionate surfer.

But Jim's commitment to community extends beyond his professional pursuits. For 15 years, he's been an active Rotarian, contributing his time and expertise to service projects that make a difference. As a speaker for youth at the RYLA Rotary Camp in San Diego, he inspires and empowers the next generation to reach for the stars.
